The rebuilt former Woodbine Casino reopened in June 2023 after a roughly $1-billion redevelopment, and its gaming floor runs to about 328,000 square feet with over 4,800 slot machines, 175 table games and a 30-table poker room.

Pickering Casino Resort, on Durham Live Avenue about 45 minutes east, is a full resort with 2,200-plus slots, 90-plus table games and 24-hour poker. Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel, on Scugog Island near Port Perry (about 90 minutes northeast), is owned by the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and pairs its floor with a 116-room hotel.
