Which casino is closest to downtown Toronto?

getting-started · Last reviewed June 28, 2026

There is no casino in Toronto's downtown core, but the closest full-scale option is Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto in Etobicoke, in the city's west end at Highways 401 and 427. Outside rush hour it is roughly a 20-to-30-minute drive from downtown, and it is the only major casino actually within Toronto's city limits.

Other nearby choices

Heading east, Pickering Casino Resort in Durham Region is about 45 minutes from downtown. Further out, Great Blue Heron near Port Perry is roughly 90 minutes northeast. All three are OLG venues run by Great Canadian Entertainment.

The at-home alternative

If travel is the obstacle, Ontario's regulated online market lets residents play from anywhere in the province. Use only casinos registered with the AGCO and iGaming Ontario — the registered, rated options appear below.
